These are especially nice for very small aquscapes or nano tanks where a traditional internal filter or sponge filter could be disturbing. These disks are easy to hide behind rocks or wood or among plants. These are driven by an air stone, so need an air pump!
This airlift biological filter provides effective filtration of the aquarium water. Connect the Air Disk filter to an air pump (not included!) and place it on the bottom of the aquarium. The air stone provides additional oxygen and enhances the venturi effect. The sponge and aerobic bacteria convert harmful ammonia (NH3) into nitrite (NO2) and nitrate (NO3).
Ideally used in plant-only tanks or tanks only contianing shrimp and/or snails. For heavy fish stocking we would advise a larger filter solution.
