Amano Shrimp (Caridina multidentata)

Amano Shrimp are the most adaptable shrimp in the hobby. They can live in nearly every water condition. They are peaceful and can live side by side with other dwarf shrimp species. They are known to be ravenous eaters and often make off with a big lump of food - take this into account when feeding.

This is one of the largest dwarf shrimp species in the hobby. Fully grown Amano reach between 4 and 6 cms in length and are therefore a good addition to community tanks even with bigger fish.

Usually sold at around 2cm.

Ideal water parameters:
PH: 6.0-7.8
Temp: 19-23 C.
TDS: 80-400

Acclimatising:
When introducing them to their new tank, please acclimatise them slowly in a bowl over a period of several hours, mixing your tank water with the water they came in, slowly increasing the amount of tank water until you have a mixture of 1/3 transport and 2/3 tank water. After that, net them out and put them into their new home. It is normal for the shrimp to lose a little colour during transport. As soon as they are in their new tank, they will colour back up to their full intensity.
